Comments: The Division provides a forum for the resolution of consumer complaints for any financial institution chartered in Maryland. When you mail a complete description of your complaint, be sure to include all supporting documentation. Someone from the complaint unit will contact you when your complaint is received.

Comments: Both Howard and Montgomery County have Consumer Affairs Divisions which accept and try to resolve complaints from county residents or from any consumers who have complaints about businesses in their jurisdictions. They will provide information about local businesses.

Comments: The Office of the Attorney General does not handle most problems with collection agencies. However, they can help if a consumer is having difficulties with a creditor who is collecting their own debts
