Comments: The
Federal Reserve Board will also investigate complaints against state
chartered banks. The FRB investigates unfair or deceptive practices and
anything which may be a violation of Federal Law. The FRB reminds
consumers that contacting the bank managers and other representatives of
their bank is the best first step to resolving complaints.
A
Special Note on Banks Federally/nationally chartered Banks
are not under Maryland jurisdiction. If
your bank is nationally chartered usually the words “Federal” or
“National” will be part of the name or the initials NA or FSB will
appear in the name. If your bank is nationally chartered, your complaint
must be filed with the appropriate federal agency.
